Visitation: A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Anderson Jones Corcoran Funeral Home in Harrisburg, SD
Pamela Jean Lueth, 68, entered into eternal peace Thursday, April 25 at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls after bravely battling cancer for 2 ½ years.
Pamela was born September 1st, 1955, in Sioux Falls to Myrna Franken and Gail Ness, later embraced into the family by Darryl Riddle. Pamela graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973 and was married to her high school sweetheart shortly thereafter for 21 years. Her pride and joy were her 2 girls, Heather and Hollie. Pam would share with everyone how proud she was of her 2 girls. She was also very proud to be a grandma to her 8 granddaughters, 1 grandson and 6 great grandchildren. Let’s just say she watched many, many, many softball, basketball and volleyball games through the years. Even when unable to attend in person, she faithfully tuned in to watch them online, whether on her TV or tablet. However, she had one exception—when her beloved show, The Bachelor, aired in the evenings. During those times, not even her dear friend Brad could pry her away from the screen for a phone call!
Sundays and Thursdays held a special place in Pamela’s heart, as she spent them in the company of her beloved sister LeAnne, driving around town listening to country music, sharing meals at Culvers and shopping for crafts.
Since being diagnosed with 2 different forms of cancer in December of 2021, Pam enjoyed every minute she had with her 2 girls, grandkids and sister. She went camping in the Black Hills, flew to Colorado, went horse-back riding, and she enjoyed the beach in Okoboji. Pam was an amazing cook and always made enough chili to feed an army. Although her weekly, sometimes daily trips for radiation and chemo were not something to look forward to, she always enjoyed that time with her daughter Heather driving her back and forth. She would put on her baseball hat and say, “My chauffeur is here!” Pam remained remarkably positive and resilient throughout her journey, often reassuring the nurses with a smile, saying, “I’m a tough ol’ bird!”
She is survived by her children: Heather (Gaudi) Hernandez, Alexandria, SD; and Hollie (Shawn) Waterman, Centennial, CO as well as her brothers Rodney Riddle (Sioux Falls) and Todd Riddle (Sioux Falls), her sister Leanne Riddle (Sioux Falls) and her father Darryl Riddle (Canton), 8 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 6 great grandchildren, nephews and Uncle Turk Franken.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, Myrna (Franken) Sievers and Gail Ness, and her brother Mark Riddle.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Anderson Jones Corcoran Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Family and friends are invited to honor Pam’s strength and courage by wearing her favorite colors, pink and purple.
