Visitation: Visitation will be from 2-4pm Monday, May 27th 2024 at Anderson Jones Corcoran Harrisburg Chapel with a service at 4pm.
DeRyan died peacefully under hospice care in the early hours of Sunday, May 26th. 2024
Proud father of 3 children; Scott Mennis of Sioux Falls, Jenn Skalko (Nick) of Shakopee, and step daughter, Tonya of Sioux Falls. DeRyan was a proud Grandpa to adult grandchildren Tyler Olson and Reanna Mennis, as well as Kenzie Skalko (16), Natalie Schatz (14), Logan Schatz (12), Grayson Skalko (12), and Noah Skalko (6).
He was born to Cora and Ole Mennis in Sioux Falls where he was raised through his childhood.
DeRyan was a devoted and loving husband to Mary Ann Mennis who will dearly miss him and the life they shared together. When he was not spoiling his grandchildren; you could have found him walking at the zoo, enjoying breakfast at Hardee’s, watching any sports TV he could find, or betting big on Video Poker. You could always count on DeRyan to have a front pocket in his shirt with a ball point pen and a comb for his hair. His family will miss his Elvis impressions and dad jokes.
DeRyan was preceded in death by his parents; Cora and Ole, his sister Shirley Yesda, Brother-in-law, Kenny Yesda, his nephew Greg Yesda, and his son Jeremy Swartz. www.harrisburgchapel.com
