Mason Arthur Robertson, 17 of Harrisburg, SD passed away on Friday July 3rd as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Mason was born October 17th 2002 in Mitchell, SD to Jeremy and Kim (Aadland) Robertson.

Mason would have been a senior at Harrisburg High School this fall. He recently started working at Wagner Super Foods for the summer and was excited to receive his first paycheck. He had a knack for striking up a conversation with anyone he met, and was exceptional about remembering names. Some special words shared about Mason that help describe the kind of young man he was were that he would do anything for anyone and when he walked into a room, he could make everyone smile because his smile was so genuine and infectious (though smiling for pictures was not always his forte). He loved spending time with his family, from a very young age he looked so forward to spending time with the men role models in his life, like his grandpas, uncles, great uncles and his favorite male cousins; while he was spending time with them, he was adamant that a question would not go unasked nor unanswered. He especially loved going trucking with his grandpa Dave and being at his Uncle Randy’s farm near Wagner. Mason enjoyed listening to mostly current country music; Luke Combs was his current favorite artist. His favorite color was camouflage. He enjoyed watching football (go Packers!), westerns, star driven action films, WWE wrestling, PBR bull riding, going fishing and going to the car races. He also had plans this summer or next summer to go visit his uncle Matt at his house in Washington, DC.

Mason is survived by his parents Jeremy and Kim Robertson of Harrisburg SD; brother, Grant Robertson of Harrisburg SD; grandparents Mark and Laureen Aadland of Brookings SD,  Dave and Diane Robertson of Wagner SD, Jim and Jane DeVaney of Madison SD; Uncles Scott (Stacy) Robertson of Sioux Falls SD, Randy (Lona) Robertson of Wagner SD, Ryan Aadland of Sioux Falls SD and Matt Aadland of Washington, DC; great grandmothers Alice Kafka of Dante SD, Shirley Wingle of Madison SD, Elida DeVaney of Madison SD; 5 first cousins; Emily, Madi, Jason, Luke and Leo and several extended cousins and great aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his paternal great grandfathers; Arthur Robertson, Eugene Homolka and Orvin Kafka; his maternal great grandfathers; James “Pa” Wingle, Marvin Aadland and Frances DeVaney; his paternal great grandmother; Diana Schroeder and his paternal great uncle Jack Robertson, and great aunt Barbara Frei.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-9:00PM Wednesday July 8th 2020 at Anderson Jones Corcoran Harrisburg Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, SD with family present from 6-8:00PM and a prayer service at 7:00PM.

Funeral service will take place Thursday, July 9th 2020 at 2:00PM with a visitation from 12-2:00PM at the Dante Auditorium in Dante, SD (8 miles SE of Wagner SD) Interment will be at the ZCBJ Cemetery in Wagner SD with a dessert and refreshments reception following at the Dante Auditorium.
