Ione Joan (Gortmaker) Harris
November 3, 1932 – April 20, 2026

Ione Joan (Gortmaker) Harris, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at the age of 93.

Ione was born on November 3, 1932 to Ben and Tracie Gortmaker. On July 3, 1952, she married Donald LaDell Harris. They were married for 57 years, before Donald’s passing in 2009.

Ione’s greatest joy was time spent with her family. She cherished visits from her children and grandchildren, especially during holidays and the tradition of gathering every other Sunday for family dinners. Her holiday meals—complete with turkey and grandchildren sipping Kool-Aid from Looney Tunes glasses—became treasured memories that will live on for generations.

Ione enjoyed gardening and found great happiness in nurturing her plants. She also loved sitting on her porch during warm summer mornings and evenings and watched the squirrels and birds that frequented her birdbath and feeders.

Ione is survived by her children: Arlin Harris; Terry (Deb) Harris; Lon Harris; Kathi (Kelly) Techen; Kari Lewis; and Kristi Jones.

She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Emily (Joe Wilfahrt) Harris, Erica (Shawn) Mason; Spencer Raap; Taylor (Skyler) Gibson; Erin (Jeremy) Vermulm; Ben Harris; Ryan (Shirley) Jones; Adam (Kabrina) Holmstrom; Matthew Holmstrom; and Kyle Jones, along with six great grandchildren: Caleb, Alex, Leo, Evelyn, Logan, and Lincoln.

Ione’s legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the love she gave so freely, and the memories shared by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
