Beverly Jean Jeno was born on June 6, 1965 in Owatonna, MN to Irvin and Norma Jeno.  The oldest of five siblings, she spent most of her childhood in Marion, SD where she graduated from Marion High School in 1983.  On August 30, 1986 she was united in marriage to Jay Hertel.  They started their family in Parker and later moved to Harrisburg.  They have three sons, Zachary, Jakob and Nicolas.  They enjoyed watching them in various sports through the years.

Bev and Jay loved the outdoors and exploring nature.  They hiked numerous trails in at least 10 states.  They looked forward to all the 4-wheeling and snowmobiling trips with family and friends.  Bev cherished most spending time with her family and grandchildren who all lived near her.  She was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2019.  She believed everyday was a gift and focused on her faith and family.

Grateful for having shared her life with her husband Jay of 35 years, her parents Irvin Jeno and Norma Ackerman; her children, Zachary and Emily Hertel, Jakob and Olivia Hertel, and Nicolas Hertel; her grandchildren Katelynn, Harrison and Kaeman; her sisters Chris (Tom) Hurd and Kathy (Dale)  Anderson; her brothers Harold (Julie) Jeno and Jeff (Rhonda) Jeno; her mother in law, Donna Hertel; brothers in law, Harvey (Jane) Hertel Jr, Jerome (Stephanie) Hertel, Jeff (Lonna) Hertel; sister in law Holly (Steve) Carnes; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father in law Harvey Hertel.

I was so sorry to learn of Bev’s passing. I worked with her years ago at PrairieWave and we also had kids in school together. She was one of the nicest people I knew. Gone way too soon. Sending prayers & condolences to her family & friends.

Bev and Jay were HHS baseball parents with us, just good people who blended in so well. She always had a smile and good words for the kids on the team. So sorry for your loss but glad to have known her.
